Merc Aerospace’s high specification machinery is housed at our site in Pendle in Lancashire, an area renowned for its engineering expertise.
Our world class facilities operate on a three shift system, allowing us to achieve delivery of difficult, high tolerance components to very tight deadlines and an outstanding quality in small to medium volumes.
Merc Aerospace’s high specification machinery includes 5 Axis Mill, CNC Mill/Turn, CNC Turning, CNC Milling, EDM Spark and Wire & Fast-Hole Drilling.
This machinery, plus more traditional machines such as those used for surface grinding, honing, milling and centre-lathe turning, are all operated by leading engineering experts.
Our extensive range of machinery enables us to produce machined components, sub-assemblies and fully treated ‘bought out components’ to exemplary standards.
Here at Merc Aerospace we benefit from an extensive range of CNC machine tools, including three, four and five-axis milling and twinspindle Mill-Turn centres with up to nine axes. Our most recent investment was in a MX-520 machine which comes with high speed machining capability and a capacity of 60 tools, supported by 70 bar (100 PSI) high pressure coolant, facilitating specialist deep hole drilling requirements.
Our plant list enables us to specialise in the production of small to medium sized batches as well as working with difficult to machine aerospace and subsea materials including nickel alloys, duplex and stainless steels, titanium and magnesium.
Our highly skilled engineering team have many years’ experience of producing high specification and complex components for the aerospace, defence, petrochemical and energy industries and are trained by some of the UK’s leading training bodies and universities.
We are committed to continual reinvestment in our plant list, ensuring that Merc Aerospace remains a world class precision engineering company.
